Now, visitor numbers are gradually stabilizing at a normal level.” This development is not unfavorable for the visitors. “The idea is to connect with nature and find tranquility in the forest,” Melanie explains. Therefore, she is not unhappy about the decreasing crowds, especially considering that the visitor numbers are still three times higher than originally anticipated.

School groups and families are the primary repeat visitors. This is not only due to the treetop pathway itself but also the convenient public transportation access, the fantastic playground on the forest floor beneath the walkway, and the beautiful barbecue spots and picnic areas. The success of the treetop pathway is a stroke of luck for the village of Mogelsberg. The two restaurants have experienced a significant increase in revenue, and the local village shops, bakeries, and butchers in the region are also benefiting. “We have achieved exactly what we set out to do,” says Bruno Vogt. “Awakening the village from its slumber, just like we intended.”
