About the brand

Sabo was founded in 1845 in Viganello (today Lugano) by pharmacist, chemist, and botanist Giosia Uboldi. He begins to produce small amounts of oil for medical and dietary purposes.

In 1887, the company inherits Luigi Bordoni, who manages to enlarge the oil mill despite the difficult economic situation in the First World War and in the post-war period.

In 1930, Luigi’s son Carlo Bordoni takes over the management. These are difficult times due to the severe global crisis, which also affects the canton of Ticino. However, Sabo continues to grow thanks to new investments.

The company’s continuous and careful control has ensured the consistently high quality and a balanced, pure taste of sunflower oil for decades.
