Both are made from short crust pastry filled with a mass of caramelized walnuts. The main differences between the two products lie in the fact that the bullois cake is coated with chocolate. Also, the proportion of filling mass in relation to the dough is greater than in the Engadine nut pie. Finally, the filling does not contain honey.
The Bullois cake differs from the famous “Nusstorte” by its chocolate topping, as well as by its filling mass in the composition of which there is also no honey. Furthermore, the rest of the ingredients consist of nuts, Gruyère cream, sugar, butter, eggs, flour, and chocolate for the famous topping.
